WAEC First CBT Result is out for 2024 – The West African Examinations Council, Nigeria, has unveiled the results of the inaugural Computer-Based West African Senior School Certificate Examination (CB-WASSCE) for Private Candidates, 2024–First Series.
This marks a significant transition from traditional paper-based exams to computer-based assessments for private candidates.
According to a statement released by the council, the CB-WASSCE introduced a hybrid approach wherein all questions were presented on computer screens.
Multiple-choice questions were answered directly on the computer, while responses to essay and practical questions were recorded in booklets provided to candidates.
The examination took place from Wednesday, January 31 to Saturday, February 17, 2024.
Analysis of candidates’ performance revealed that out of the 8,139 candidates who participated, 3,424 candidates, constituting 42.07 per cent, achieved credits and above in at least five subjects, with or without English Language and/or Mathematics.
Furthermore, 2,519 candidates, making up 30.95 per cent, attained credits and above in a minimum of five subjects, including English Language and Mathematics.
Candidates who sat for the CB-WASSCE can now access their results through the WAEC official portal.
